1988 goes to 1776 on Broadway

December 8th -- Cocktails  from 5:30 with 7PM Showtime

Join us for the return of '88 night on Broadway at 1776, the musical, directed by classmate Diane Paulus. The performance starts at 7 p.m. at American Airlines Theatre, 227 West 42nd Street. Diane will give a short talk at the end, sharing her inspiration for this very 2022 take on "How to solve the problem of America".

Before the performance, meet up with classmates at Brazen Tavern at 356 W 44th Street from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

1776, is a revival of the Tony Award–winning musical, which premiered on Broadway in 1969. The NY Times describes this very 2022 revival: "The revival, directed by Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus, has the familiar rousing melodies (in new, rock-infused arrangements), star-spangled color scheme and corny dad jokes. But they’re delivered by a racially diverse cast of women, nonbinary and trans actors, whose embodiment, Paulus said, wakes the language up."
